Drake University Director of Financial Aid
Under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, the Director serves as a key member of the University’s enrollment and revenue management team and provides leadership, vision, and direction for the Office of Student Financial Planning. The position develops policies and strategies to both achieve regulatory compliance and administer institutional, federal, state, and outside financial aid programs in a manner that promotes a positive customer experience. The director maintains excellent relationships with communities of interest both on and off campus, manages office operational and University financial aid budgets, and maintains awareness of the most current trends and technological advances in financial aid management.
Bachelor’s degree (required) Master's degree (preferred) in education/higher education, student affairs, business, or related field.
A minimum of seven years higher education experience with at least five years of experience working in the direct administration of student financial aid in a leadership role (e.g., director or associate director) in a higher education financial aid office; expert knowledge of financial aid regulations and guidelines; experience supervising full-time staff required. Experience in a private higher education institution preferred.
Extensive knowledge of contemporary financial aid and scholarship awarding, enrollment revenue management and technological strategies related to achieving enrollment goals for new students; proven record of success in financial aid; and an understanding of current marketing concepts and practices preferred.
