Held annually, Summer Institute and Leadership Symposium are week-long training programs that give MASFAA members a chance to enhance their knowledge of financial aid, develop their professional and leadership skills, and engage with new and experienced financial aid administrators.
Designed to teach the basic of Financial Aid administration and prepare participants to take the NASFAA Credential test in 9 subject areas. We will have two tracks participants can attend, New Employee and Advanced Employee. The New Employee track is meant to educate participants that have been in the field for fewer than 5 years. The Advanced Employee track is for employees that have that basic knowledge already and are ready for more details. Participants will learn from seasoned MASFAA Professionals on financial aid topics with a few professional development topics to supplement the practical knowledge. Opportunities to meet MASFAA colleagues and network with other FAA’s will also be a large part of the week.
Designed to help cultivate future leaders in MASFAA, our state associations, and our campuses. The week will include professional development topics involving working with diverse populations, professional presence, building a strong team and more. Participants will also have the opportunity to prepare to take the Professional Judgement NASFAA Credential as a result of their participation. Opportunities to meet and interact with other FAA’s will be available throughout the week.
This professional development opportunity is organized by the Summer Institute and Leadership Symposium Committee.
