In this LGBTQ+ Cultural Competency training, we will be discussing attraction, sex, & gender, the use of pronouns, LGBTQ+ terminology, and how we can use all of this knowledge to better support the students we serve. The content in this presentation is focused on ideas and language that are becoming more and more popular with our students. The only expectation is that you come with any questions or concepts you would like to explore! NiK’s teachings come from a place of “you don’t know what you don’t know.” As a person who grew up in a town where a lot of this language and these concepts did not exist, NiK believes in good intentions and that, just like them, people want to learn.

NiK Peavy (they/them) currently serves as the Associate Director for Gender & Attraction Initiatives (GAI) within the Multicultural Resource Commons at Oberlin College & Conservatory.
